THE FARM
THE STORY BEGAN IN 1860
The original farm house, built in 1860, sits on 125 acres with a waterfront view. The property includes lush pastures, woods, gardens, ponds, natural springs, and a winding Souadabscook stream. Our farm is a special place; many visitors are taken aback by its beauty and peaceful setting and we realize the importance of preserving our farms history and natural resources.
Farmhouse Relics
When we acquired Chalet Farms in 2014, we were gifted with original sketches and photos of the farmhouse and barn. A piece of history was also uncovered beneath the floorboards—an edition of the Northern Border newspaper from October 30, 1875. This incredible find serves as a timeless reminder of the farm’s deep roots and rich heritage, stretching back to the late 19th century.
